Well, about the that could be made to my study programme
there are plenty of possible changes, in fact, the University changed the
curriculum the year after I started studying journalism. With this change the
ICEI deleted some subjects of the curriculum, adding some others instead. Now the
curriculum has more history, economy and international relations, to say some
examples.
Something that I would change is the workload and the length
of studies because I think there are some semesters –or years- that has a low
level of workload and changing this the length of the studies would decrease. I
can say that I had a semester with only three lessons, wich easyly could be
five, taking two from future semesters.
Another problem is there is like ten cameras for the
students, wich is completely insufficient. I think ICEI should invest in this
area because there aren´t many students with their own equipment to work with.
Finally, I would change the way ICEI decides wich proffesors
they contract –considering that there are not so many teachers with contract in
ICEI-. I say this because ICEI lost a very good teacher two or three years ago
when they decide to contract another one instead, and they didn´t choose
Jenifer Abate, who was a very good teacher, but they decided to contract a very
good journalist –I don´t remember the name- and then Abate chose to go to
another University. That was a huge lost for ICEI and it´s students.
